FAST food fan Eve Saint decided to celebrate the 4th of July with a tasty dish of nachos.
But she got rather more than she bargained for.
It’s not unknown for unlucky takeaway customers to end up with fly eggs, chicken heads and even baby rats mixed in with their purchases, but Eve was utterly perplexed to find a door handle in her nachos.
Suffice to say, she was incensed. She posted a picture of the offending door-furniture on Facebook, writing “Taco Bell, I’m coming to f*** someone up. Real funny putting a f***ing door-known in my nachos, b****!
“We take this very seriously.”
There have been myriad examples of chancers putting insects and small rodents in takeaway containers in order to score a payout but the presence of a door-knob, covered in melted cheese, bits of meat and Taco Bell’s special sauce looked genuine enough.
Some people commenting on Eve’s post said that the photo looked fake, but Eve countered that she’d waited in “the drive-through for 45 mins and I’m the only one who got a door knob.”
Eve, of Fishkill, New York, later speculated that the knob might have been part of the machine in the kitchen that was used to assemble the tacos.
She tried to complain to Taco Bell, but was initially brushed off by staff, being told that what she claimed was “impossible” and having the phone put down on her.
Eventually, though, she managed to find someone who would listen to her claims and the chain are now investigating how such a bizarre thing could have come about.
Taco Bell released a statement saying that it was investigating the incident” “We take this very seriously. The franchisee that owns and operates this location is looking into this matter and strives to make things right with the customer,” it said.
