‘Shocked and heartbroken!’ Labour MP Jack Dromey received cross-party tributes.

Labour MP Jack Dromey has been hailed as “shocked and heartbroken” by members of all parties.

SURPRISE lawmakers have paid tribute to Labour MP and shadow Home Secretary Jack Dromey, who died unexpectedly yesterday.

Mr Dromey, a father of three who was married to Labour grandee Harriet Harman, 71, died at his Birmingham flat, according to his family.

The former deputy general secretary of the Unite union had just recently participated in a parliamentary debate.

“We loved him so, so much,” Mr. Dromey and Ms. Harman’s son Joe tweeted.

“Big man x, may you rest in peace.”

“From supporting the Grunwick film processing laboratory strike, when he first met Harriet, to being elected to represent Birmingham Erdington in 2010, Jack lived his commitment to social justice every day,” said Labour leader Sir Keir Starmer.

Mr. Dromey took part in a discussion about the Afghan citizen resettlement scheme on Thursday.

“We’re all in disbelief that the life force that was Jack Dromey has died,” said House of Commons Speaker Sir Lindsay Hoyle.

He was a great guy, down to earth, always upbeat, and always looking for ways to help and save jobs. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather at heart.”

Nadhim Zahawi, the Education Secretary, expressed his shock and heartbreak.
