At a free concert on a Brazilian beach on Saturday night, Shakira entertained two million spectators.

Around 11 p.m., the singer took the stage on Rio de Janeiro’s Copacabana Beach, where a sizable throng had gathered to see the Colombian celebrity perform.

Her Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran (Women No Longer Cry) global tour, named after her 2024 album, included the performance.

Shakira recalled her first visit to Brazil almost thirty years ago during the performance, saying, “I came here when I was eighteen years old, dreaming about singing for you.”

And now take a look at this. Life is enchanted.

Before concluding her performance with the song BZRP Music Sessions #53/66, which followed her split from Spanish football player Gerard Piqué, Shakira sang fan faves Hips Don’t Lie, La Tortura, and La Bicicleta.

Following a free performance on a Brazilian beach, Shakira played for a massive crowd of two million people on Saturday night.

Around 11 p.m., the singer took the stage on Rio de Janeiro’s Copacabana Beach, where a sizable throng had gathered to see the Colombian celebrity perform.

“Every time we women fall, we get up a little wiser,” Shakira remarked.

With a number of striking custom-made ensembles from Etro, Shakira made sure to put on an amazing display.

Before closing with a massive fireworks display, the pop artist was seen walking the length of the stage while holding a Brazilian flag.

Her appearance comes after that of Lady Gaga last year and Madonna in 2024, both of whom entertained large crowds on the beach.

Two million people attended the performance, according to Rio Mayor Eduardo Cavaliere, who wrote on X that “The She-Wolf made history in Rio.”

The free concert is part of City Hall’s effort to stimulate the local economy following Carnival and New Year’s Eve celebrations and prior to June’s month-long Saint John’s Day festivities.

Parties are big business to us. As he outlined the city’s operational plan for the event on Wednesday, Cavaliere stated, “Because parties generate jobs, income, development, and identity for the city.”

He declared, “Our investment in this show will give us a financial return 40 times greater.”

A study conducted by City Hall and Riotur, the municipality’s tourist organization, estimated that the performance would bring in about 777 million reais (about £114 million).

It follows the death of a crew member who assisted in setting up the stage structures for Shakira’s free performance at Copacabana Beach, Brazil.

The performance was a part of her Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran, or Women No Longer Cry, world tour, which is named after her album from 2024.

Shakira talked on her first visit to Brazil during the performance, saying, “I came here when I was eighteen years old, dreaming about singing for you.” Now take a look at this. Life is enchanted.

Before concluding her performance with the tune BZRP Music Sessions #53/66, Shakira sang fan favourites Hips Don’t Lie, La Tortura, and La Bicicleta.

The singer’s performance drew a sizable throng to the beach.

With multiple striking clothing changes with a Brazilian theme, Shakira made sure to put on an amazing performance.

Before closing with a massive fireworks display, the pop artist was also seen walking the length of the stage while holding a Brazilian flag.

Her appearance comes after that of Lady Gaga last year and Madonna in 2024, both of whom entertained large crowds on the beach.

Several artists joined Shakira on stage.

The fatal accident was reported on Instagram by the event organisers.

The statement, which was translated from Portuguese, said, “First responders provided initial care at the scene, and the fire department was immediately called to transport the injured person.”

Sadly, the expert died in the hospital. We are currently offering the responsible company, its staff, and the victim’s family our complete support, consolation, and solidarity.

According to Reuters, the state fire department also disclosed that the victim “suffered severe crushing injuries to his lower limbs after becoming trapped in a lifting system, citing witness accounts.”

Shakira’s (last name Ripoll) reps have been contacted by The Daily Mail for comment.

The Colombian contralto crooner’s concert was undoubtedly clouded by the tragedy, which Rio de Janeiro Mayor Eduardo Cavaliere, the singer’s biggest admirer, notoriously tweeted about last month while prohibiting rival pop artist Chappell Roan from performing in his city due to her security scandal.

An astounding 2.1 million people watched a free Lady Gaga concert last year, and an estimated 1.6 million people attended Madonna’s show in 2024.

Shakira has been promoting it since Saturday, when she posted seductive photos of herself with a “Lobacabana” fan covering her nude chest.

“Rio, you’re almost there!”With 372.3 million social media followers, the four-time Grammy winner captioned her Instagram slideshow.

I have a tonne of surprises planned for you, including new clothes, music you’ll adore, and guest artists. I’m really excited to be there—no altar do planeta!”

Wearing a tight Brazil T-shirt, Shakira sampled delicious Brazilian treats for a TikTok video on April 13.

Two million concertgoers were able to observe the performer thanks to screens erected up the beach.

Shakira flaunted her incredible physique while wearing a sparkling gold ensemble.

Later, the celebrity wore a yellow skirt and bralette.

A number of men dancers joined the celebrity.

Shakira played for the two million fans while sporting an eye-catching black sparkling guitar and a blue glittering outfit.

The two million spectators at the performance

On February 12, the Choka Choka singer exclaimed, “We’re going to have so much fun!” and referred to the festival as “the biggest show on the planet” and “the most dreamed-of concert of my life.””

Following Rio, Shakira’s 122-date, $421.6 million-grossing Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran World Tour is slated to arrive at California’s Intuit Dome in Inglewood on June 13.

At the age of 13, the Algo Tú singer began her career by securing a three-album record deal after trying out for Sony Music Colombia executive Ciro Vargas.

However, Shakira didn’t achieve global popularity with her breakthrough single Whenever, Wherever until she recorded her English crossover album Laundry Service in 2001.

According to reports, the founder of Isima has sold over 125 million recordings globally and has 80.7 million monthly Spotify listeners.
