Schoolgirl, 17, has face skinned in horror ‘ritual’ killing on approach to church

A TEENAGER has been found dead with her face skinned in a horrific killing.

Christine Silawan, 17, was last spotted alive at 4pm with three men yesterday in Lapu-Lapu City, the Philippines.

Her corpse was discovered in a field in the city this morning with her trousers and underwear missing.

The victim’s face had been peeled off, with nothing left but her skull, teeth, eyeballs and hair.

Police chief Lemuel Obon said: “We have witnesses who said that the girl was last seen alive with three men. We are tracing their identities.”

He added: ”Police are investigating all motives about whether the young victim was the subject of an unprovoked attack and if the suspects were under the influence of drugs.

”We have never seen such a brutal crime before. It could also be a ritual to remove the skin from the face. The mother of the girl identified her from her clothes.”

Christine’s unidentified mother told police that her daughter was en-route to church before the incident.

She worked for the Sacred Heart Parish in the village of Barangay, local media report.

Cops believe the killers may have been high on drugs during the abhorrent attack.

Christine’s friends paid tribute as officers begin their hunt for the killers.

Haring Joseph said: “Rest in peace, my friend and my condolences to all of your family. May the police find whoever did this.”

Jimmy Deloso added: “Vengeance is not ours, it’s God’s. God’s wrath will surely run after these demons who did this horrible murder. Rest in peace my sweet friend.”
