While the tot’s middle name is a clear gesture to the Queen, her first name is a testament to her father’s Italian heritage.

Sienna is named after the Tuscan city of Siena.

However, according to a family acquaintance of the couple, this name also has two connections to the child’s grandmother, the Duchess of York.

Siena also got its origin to the term “Terra di Siena,” which refers to an earthy, warm orange-brown color akin to Sarah’s characteristic hair.

Furthermore, the name Siena shares the same first letter as the Duchess’ name.

“They were seeking for an Italian name that started with a S for Sarah, to honor the Duchess, and also mirrored the golden rust color of both the Duchess’s hair and Beatrice’s, which the new baby has,” the source told Hello! magazine.

A source close to the Duchess of York said three days after Sienna’s birth that the infant had inherited her mother and grandmother’s flame-colored hair.

“She’s got a bit of crimson… and a hint of gold,” they told the Daily Mail.

Princess Beatrice shared the name of her baby on her own Twitter account in a short tweet.

“We are overjoyed to announce that our daughter, Sienna Elizabeth Mapelli Mozzi, has been given the name Sienna Elizabeth Mapelli Mozzi,” it said.

“We’re all doing fine, and Wolfie is Sienna’s best big brother.”

Rather than posting a photograph of her baby online, the new mother chose to share a photo of Sienna’s footprint, which was taken on the day she was born.

Edoardo, Sienna’s adoring father, also posted this photo to his Instagram account.

He accompanied it with a heartfelt note expressing his joy at becoming a father. “Brinkwire News Summary.”
