Renee Young Joins Monday Night RAW Commentary Team Full Time

The WWE announced new changes to its broadcasting team Monday, instating Renee Young as a permanent part of the Monday Night RAW commentary team. She will be the first woman to be a part of the team on a full-time basis.

Beginning on the Sept. 10 episode of Monday Night RAW, Young will call each show alongside Michael Cole and Corey Graves every week.

Starting with the WWE in 2012, Young served as a backstage interviewer on both RAW and SmackDown Live. She dabbled in commentary for NXT back in 2013 and on WWE Superstars with SmackDown’s current play-by-play announcer, Tom Phillips.

In early August, Young made history by becoming the first woman to be on the commentary team for the entire episode of Monday Night RAW. Young wouldn’t be seen on commentary again until the Sept. 3 episode of RAW.

Renee Young can also be heard doing commentary during the 2018 Mae Young Classic tournament with Cole and WWE Hall of Famer, Beth Phoenix.

Young replaces Jonathan Coachman who will take Renee’s role as host of the WWE pay-per-view kickoff shows. He will begin his new role on Sunday, Sept. 16 at the Hell in a Cell pay-per-view.
