Sony and Rockstar are giving away this essential Red Dead Online item for a limited time only.
Players who log into Red Dead Redemption 2 on PlayStation 4 will be entitled to a free item, the Rope Holster.
What’s special about this bonus gift you may ask? The Rope Holster allows players to dual-wield two side arm weapons such as pistols, revolvers, and sawn off shotguns.
It’s worth noting that in order to get your hands on this free item you’ll need to have an active PlayStation Plus membership. Once you’ve logged into Red Dead Online, simply visit your in game wardrobe then look under the “Weapon Equipment” section or go to a Gunsmith and search under the “Accessories” category for your Rope Holster.
If you’re just starting out in Red Dead Online and need some extra firepower then this bonus piece of gear will definitely help out.
Before this PlayStation Plus promotion, the only way to unlock dual-wielding in the Red Dead Online was to hit rank 25 by earning experience points through playing missions or getting involved with competitive multiplayer.
Even then, you’d still need money to pay for a holster – now PS Plus subscribers can get it instantly.
PlayStation Plus memberships start at £6.99 for one month with a year-long pass now priced at £49.99. Rockstar and Sony have partnered on Red Dead Online content in the past though these items were recently made available to Xbox One players too.
Meanwhile, Rockstar has rolled out its latest regular update for Red Dead Online with some great new items up for grabs.
Those players who log in and complete 10 of the game’s daily challenges will bag themselves the limited Explorer Care Package which includes a handy cache of survival provisions.
Red Dead Online’s catalogue of cosmetic items also continues to grow with new additions such as stylish Riggs Fringe Coat and scarecrow-like Fieldwork Hat.
Rockstar also announced that anyone who links their Social Club and Twitch accounts before July 19th will bank $300 of in game currency as well as Superior Ammo Bundle.
Red Dead Online continues to expand with new story-driven content and multiplayer modes.
However, it’s hard to say whether it will eventually grow to rival GTA Online – perhaps a Red Dead Redemption 2 PC port could help?
