RAGE 2 unleashes an arsenal of weapons and hi-tech talents in its newest trailer

BETHESDA has released yet another action-packed, devastatingly brutal new trailer to showcase the variety of weapons and hi-tech nanotrite abilities available to players.

Bethesda Softworks together with id Software, and Avalanche Studios have released a brand new trailer for Rage 2 this afternoon, dubbed “Wasteland Superhero.”

As per most Rage trailers, it’s a gory mish-mash of violence and neon pink.

Here is a quick overview for the trailer, courtesy of a new Bethesda Softworks press release:

You’re not just Walker, the last Ranger. You’re a Wasteland Superhero!

Using your arsenal of powerful weapons and hi-tech nanotrite abilities, you’re going to wreak havoc on the baddies lurking throughout Rage 2. While they are super powerful on their own, you’ll get maximum damage by pairing those weapons and abilities for crazy combos that will knock the socks off* (*absolutely obliterate) anyone that stands in your way. The Authority doesn’t stand a chance!

See some of those combinations in action!

There’s not really anything else to add. Besides, why would you want to read this when you could be watching a man get flung into the sun or enemies blown into a zillion different pieces.

That right, you don’t. So get watching the trailer below.

RAGE 2 Preview

Willits and his team have managed to weave magic into RAGE 2: the tight, beat-to-beat action of the levels works wonders with a fun, physics-based toolkit for the player to experiment with, and the writing gluing it all together is all the best bits of your favourite B-movies combined.

There’s a yawning gap in the shooter market for Expendables-esque action games, and it looks like RAGE 2 might fill it. Come for the gunplay, stay for balls-to-the-wall story.

With Borderlands MIA and Just Cause opting for a more ‘gritty’ take on sandbox shooting, RAGE 2 could be the most off-the-wall shooter we’ll see all year.

Oh, and the soundtrack? It’s got more metal than Tony Iommi’s fingers. We fully endorse that.

Rage 2 is due out for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on May 14.
