Priti Patel feels the Metropolitan Police Service is “rotten from top to bottom” and “the worst” of all the police agencies.

According to a Home Office source, PRITI Patel “believes the Met is rotten from top to bottom” as she slams London’s police department.

The Home Secretary also claimed, according to the source, that the Met is “clearly the worst” of Britain’s police services. According to the Sunday Times, a Home Office source claims Ms Patel believes the Met has a “defensive” ethos. According to the source: “We’ve lost track of how many discussions she had with Cressida and the deputy commissioner, Steve House.

“They are unconcerned.

“It’s a formal arrangement.

“They’re on the defensive.

“Policing is a defensive endeavor.

“The Met is the absolute worst.’

Ms Patel, the Home Secretary, is said to have had frequent disagreements with the Met’s Cressida Dick.

Dame Cressida, the Metropolitan Police Commissioner, has been chastised for the Met’s handling of protests following Sarah Everard’s disappearance in March 2021.

Police in London have been accused of being overbearing at a memorial in Ms Everard’s honor.

Ms Patel is alleged to think Dame Cressida is “tin-eared” about Ms Everard’s death.

According to the source, the Home Secretary is now determined to keep a close eye on Dame Cressida when it comes to police officer vetting.

Ms Patel is also said to have been irritated by the commissioner’s apparent refusal to respond to questions she made on behalf of Ms Everard’s parents in March 2021.

Met Police officer Wayne Couzens assassinated Ms Everard, a 33-year-old marketing executive.

Mr Couzens raped and murdered Ms Everard after she went missing on March 3 while walking from a friend’s house near Clapham Common in south London.

On March 9, her body was discovered in a wooded area near Ashford, Kent.

“The murder of Sarah Everard by a serving police officer has badly eroded trust in the police,” stated a spokesman for London Mayor Sadiq Khan.
