Princess Eugenie and Princess Beatrice could serve as ‘royal buffers’ on the palace balcony during the Jubilee celebrations.

A commentator claims that if Prince Harry and Meghan Markle attend the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee, Princess Eugenie and Princess Beatrice could act as “royal buffers” on the palace balcony.

The feud over the new BBC documentary The Princes and the Press, according to royal commentator Daniela Elser, could make things “even more awkward” when the Duke and Duchess of Sussex visit the UK next June for the monarch’s Platinum Jubilee.

The royals have issued a furious statement in response to the two-part programme, which examines Prince William and Harry’s relationship with the media.

Ms Elser suggested that if Harry and Meghan do attend, Harry’s cousins Beatrice and Eugenie could serve as “royal buffers” on the balcony of Buckingham Palace.

“Here’s hoping Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie and their collection of questionable fascinators stand poised to do their bit to act as royal buffers on the balcony,” Ms Elser wrote for

“Queen and country could be in dire need of them right now.”

Eugenie has previously been mentioned as a possible mediator between the Sussexes and the royals.

The Princess is said to be close friends with Harry and Meghan.

Meghan and Eugenie were friends before Eugenie met Harry.

Eugenie lives with her husband Jack Brooksbank and their son August at the couple’s former Windsor home, Frogmore Cottage.

“Eugenie knows them in a way better than any of the Royals,” a source previously told the Telegraph.

“She was there right from the start.”

The tensions between the Sussexes and the Royal Family, according to royal author Phil Dampier, are “too big” for Eugenie to repair.

“I personally don’t believe there’s much Eugenie can do at the moment to heal the rift,” he told the Sun in August.

“I believe the chasm is too wide for her to play a significant role in its healing.”

Meghan and Harry’s appearance in the United Kingdom for the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee has sparked a lot of speculation.

A series of events, including Trooping the Colour to commemorate the Queen’s official birthday, are planned over the four-day bank holiday weekend.

Following their retirement from royal duties last year, the Sussexes have relocated to California.

Since moving to America, Harry has returned to the UK twice: for Prince Philip’s funeral in April and the unveiling of a Princess Diana statue in July.

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry made a series of shocking claims about the monarchy in.
