Princess Diana used William and Harry as a cover for her affair with James Hewitt.

Princess Diana used William and Harry as a cover for her affair with James Hewitt.

A documentary claimed that Prince William and Prince Harry were “used as cover” for their mother Princess Diana’s affair with cavalry soldier James Hewitt.

For several years, Diana cheated on her husband, Prince Charles – Harry and William’s father — with James. The Princess of Wales first met the military officer at a party held by her lady-in-waiting, Hazel West, a few years after her marriage to Charles. After the People’s Princess admitted to James that she was afraid of horses, he became her riding instructor.

In her infamous interview with Martin Bashir for the BBC’s “Panorama” programme, Diana discussed her hidden infatuation with James.

According to her biographer, writer Andrew Morton, who penned the scandalous book ‘Diana: Her True Story – In Her Own Words,’ the Princess of Wales eventually regretted discussing her romance.

Mr Morton explained that William and Harry felt betrayed by Diana in the 2011 Channel 4 documentary “How Diana’s Death Shaped William & Harry.”

“Diana regretted one thing after the Martin Bashir interview, and that was telling about James Hewitt and her involvement with him,” he stated.

“I believe the impact on the boys was the reason Diana thought she had done the wrong thing by speaking about James Hewitt in her famous television appearance.

“She told the boys she was going to see James to teach them how to ride, and that’s when the penny dropped.

“She was using William and Harry as a cover for her affair, because she was telling them at the time that he was teaching her how to ride.

“Prince William knew that was a lie, and when he met her at Eton, where he was then a boarder, he wouldn’t speak to her for a few days because he was just so upset at that deception.” The details of Diana and James’ relationship were revealed in royal author Anna Pasternak’s book, “Princess In Love.”

The contentious narrative included letters Diana addressed to the former cavalry officer, which James contributed to.

“I have lay awake at night loving you madly and thanked God for bringing you into my life,” Ms Pasternak wrote in a Daily Mail story about one of them.

“My darling one, you are the most amazing and unique person I have ever met.”Brinkwire Summary News”.
