According to insiders, Prince William “will find a way” to attend his favourite Aston Villa’s Europa League cup final in Turkey next week.
The 43-year-old Prince of Wales was there for the team’s semi-final second leg at Villa Park last week, when he rejoiced at full time after their 4-0 victory over Nottingham Forest overcame a 1-0 deficit in the first leg.
The future King warmly applauded and celebrated with those seated nearby during the game, which represents Aston Villa’s first major European tournament since 1982.
The TNT Sports cameras captured him and other fans belting out Neil Diamond’s 1969 Sweet Caroline as part of the post-match singing.
Additionally, experts have stated that he is quite likely to attend next Wednesday’s game against German team Freiburg in Istanbul, even if it has not yet been confirmed.
The Prince’s team would receive their first significant prize in thirty years with a victory in Istanbul.
“Did you see his face last week?” asked a Kensington Palace insider.
“He’ll figure it out.”
When Aston Villa scored a third goal against Nottingham Forest on Thursday, Prince William’s unadulterated emotion was evident.
Wills was ecstatic to see his favourite team, Villa, advance to the Europa League final.
On May 20, the Prince of Wales’ team will play Freiburg, a German team.
Unai Emery, the manager of Aston Villa, disclosed that Wills participated in the team’s post-match festivities on Thursday night, sparking rumours of the Prince’s presence.
The Prince of Wales was “in the dressing room” with the players, according to Mr. Emery.
Additionally, Mr. Emery told The Telegraph that the Prince is “so happy as well” about their victory.
William also showed up for royal duties at Buckingham Palace the following morning in spite of the late-night festivities.
On behalf of King Charles, he and his spouse, the Princess of Wales, co-hosted a garden party.
He acknowledged that he had “bags under the eyes” and was exhausted from a late night.
In addition, Catherine, 44, admitted to allowing Prince George, 12, Princess Charlotte, 11, and Prince Louis, 8, to stay up late to witness Aston Villa’s triumph.
While watching football, the kids “all make so much noise,” she added. They wanted to attend the game, but “we let them stay up and watch it.”
The Football Association’s patron is the Prince of Wales, who has supported Aston Villa since he was a young boy.
