Prescott Valley hit with string of car break-ins

Police are looking for information on a string of Monday morning car burglaries in Prescott Valley.

Neighborhood surveillance video recorded a suspect vehicle pulling up about 2 a.m. to an area along North Agua Fria Drive, police said.

“In the video, the car pulls up to the residence and turns off its lights. Four subjects exit the vehicle and the driver remains in the vehicle,” the Prescott Valley Police Department said in a statement. “All four suspects run up to the residence and check all the vehicle doors that are parked in the driveway.”

Officials say three of the people are then seen running down the street to the next house. The people made their way to multiple residences in just under 2 minutes, police said.

“There are more than 15 vehicle burglaries and one stolen vehicle,” police said.

Most of the vehicles burglarized were left unlocked by their owners, officials said. The stolen vehicle is described as a gray 2009 Hyundai Sonata four-door sedan, police said.

“Keeping vehicles locked when unattended is the best way to prevent becoming victims of theft,” police said.

Anyone with information on these burglaries is urged to call the Prescott Valley Police Department at 928-772-9267.
