According to his arrest record, a TikTok influencer was accused of having child porn after his partner allegedly discovered it while searching through his phone because she thought he was unfaithful.
Mason Hull, 18, of Sarasota, Florida, was taken into custody on Wednesday and accused with 15 charges of possessing materials related to child sexual assault.
The pictures and videos, according to investigators, showed girls ranging in age from eight to fifteen.
Hull, who goes by “Hullo” on TikTok and has about 350,000 followers, is most well-known online for sharing “looksmaxxing” content, a contentious trend among young guys that encourages drastic ways to boost confidence and beauty.
Additionally, he offers online coaching services via a website that claims to be able to “transform your body in 90 days.” Following the charges, his social media profiles seem to have been made private.
An arrest affidavit obtained by Fox13 states that Hull’s girlfriend at the time called the police on April 30 after reportedly finding links, pictures, and videos of child sexual abuse on his phone.
According to authorities, she also allegedly discovered Telegram communications that showed Hull interacting with people who were spreading and selling the illicit content.
The woman took pictures of some of the messages on her own phone and handed them to detectives, according to deputies.
Mason Hull, an 18-year-old TikTok influencer, was detained in Sarasota, Florida, and accused with 15 counts of having child sexual assault material.
With over 350,000 followers under the username “Hullo,” Hull is well-known for sharing “looksmaxxing” videos and offering online tutoring services to young males.
Hull allegedly admitted to police during questioning that he sought out pornography he thought was taboo and used Telegram to get the content because he wanted to “try something new.”
According to the affidavit, he also allegedly acknowledged paying for connections to access the information at least twice.
Investigators said that Hull admitted he knew the kids in the pictures were underage.
According to court records, Hull first consented to a follow-up interview when investigators contacted him, but later that day he called to decline to meet with deputies.
After a forensic examination of Hull’s phone, investigators secured an arrest warrant on May 6 accusing him of 15 counts of possessing child sexual abuse material, according to officials.
According to court documents, when over ten files were discovered and the recordings purportedly showed minors being sexually abused, each charge carried increased punishment.
The next day, Hull was apprehended without incident at his apartment complex by members of the sheriff’s Tactical Unit.
According to jail records, he was released on a $112,500 bond, with each charge costing $7,500.
According to an arrest affidavit, Hull’s ex-girlfriend reported him to the police after discovering the illicit material on his phone.
According to the complaint, the ex-girlfriend suspected Hull of cheating and was looking through his phone.
According to WFLA, a judge has banned Hull from accessing the internet, ordered him to avoid social media, and forbade him from contacting minors or going to places that kids frequent. On June 5, he is scheduled to return to court for an arraignment.
The case demonstrates the sheriff’s office’s emphasis on child protection, according to a release. “This investigation highlights SCSO’s commitment to protecting children and aggressively pursuing those who exploit them,” said Sheriff Kurt A. Hoffman.
The inquiry is still under progress.
