A 28-year-old nurse has been charged with murder after allegedly stabbing her husband to death – as neighbours recall hearing a woman’s terrified screams.
Emergency crews were called to Murrumba Downs in the Moreton Bay area of Brisbane at about 8am on Wednesday.
Father-of-three Sean Murray, 32, died on the side of the road despite the efforts of paramedics.
His wife Louise Murray was interviewed by detectives and charged with one count of murder (domestic violence) on Friday afternoon.
Neighbours of the pair reported hearing a woman yell ‘not my baby, not my baby’ before they called Triple-0 at about 8am on Wednesday.
Concerned locals said they heard the couple loudly fighting throughout the morning, before eventually calling police.
Neighbour Denise Denton said she was outside when she heard a woman screaming, before police and paramedics swarmed the suburban street 20 minutes later.
‘I didn’t realise it was going to be this,’ Ms Dention told the Courier Mail.
‘There were police cars everywhere and that’s when I thought it’s something worse.’
Mr Murray, who worked at Lenard’s Chicken, has two young daughters and a son.
Ms Murray will appear in Pine Rivers Magistrates Court on Friday.
Investigations are continuing.
