A pet dog has touched the hearts of millions in China after it was caught on camera sharing its food with a stray cat.
Viral footage shows the pooch, nicknamed Pudding, bringing a pork bun to the small ginger cat, seemingly trying to feed its starving feline friend at a courtyard.
The moggie initially remained vigilant before finally giving in to the tasty temptation as it is seen scurrying away with the meaty treat in its mouth.
The heart-warming moment has moved millions of netizens who have praised Pudding a ‘kind soul’ and ‘little angel’.
The scene was spotted by the dog owner, known by her surname Fu, at a garden outside her home in Weifang of eastern Chinese province Shandong on Thursday.
‘I was working downstairs and the dog was barking towards the corner of the wall at the courtyard,’ Ms Fu told Chinese media The Paper.
The woman then saw Pudding taking a pork bun from its kennel and leaving it in front of a small ginger cat resting by the steps in the garden.
‘I thought the dog would try to catch the cat or fight with it when it takes a bite of the bun,’ Ms Fu added. ‘I had no idea that what I soon captured on camera was really happening.’
In the video, the pooch is seen wagging its tail and walking back and forth, seemingly encouraging the moggie to pick up the food.
The vigilant cat initially remained still, appearing to refuse to let its guard down, as Pudding patiently waited nearby.
Finally, the hungry feline carefully edged forward and took a bite of the meat bun before quickly running upstairs with the food.
The footage has amassed millions of views across social media platforms after Ms Fu shared it on Thursday on Douyin, the Chinese equivalent to TikTok.
