Patrick Mahomes enjoyed a family outing on a day off from his intense battle against time to be healthy for the upcoming NFL season.
On Sunday, the quarterback for the Kansas City Chiefs and his wife Brittany accompanied their three kids to see their NWSL team play.
The pair co-owns the Kansas City Current and are avid soccer fans, with Brittany playing in college.
At CPKC Stadium on the banks of the Missouri River, the Texas-born high school couple was photographed with their son Patrick “Bronze” and daughters Sterling Skye and Golden Raye.
And they were treated to an exciting match in which goals from Lo’eau LaBonta, Temwa Chawinga, and Haley Hopkins helped their favorite Current overcome the Portland Thorns 3-1.
As they played around with one another in the opulent suite they had customized, the family seemed to be having a fantastic time.

Mahomes is in a battle against time to be fit for the upcoming season after tearing the ACL and LCL in his left knee on December 14.
He had surgery in Dallas after sustaining the injury in the closing minutes of a Los Angeles Chargers game, and he returned to Kansas City, where he had been working all summer, almost immediately to begin his recuperation.
It’s unclear how much Mahomes can contribute as the Chiefs start organized team activities on Monday, the third phase of the offseason program.
At that point, there is still no live contact between the attack and defense. Prior to their required minicamp on June 9–11, the Chiefs have set aside six of those exercises for May 26–28 and June 1–3.
The NFL had to clarify that the Chiefs’ primetime windows over the first two weeks of the season were not intended to be a sign of Mahomes’ rapid recuperation.
“We didn’t know anything more than anyone else,” NFL executive Hans Schroeder stated earlier this month. The Chiefs play Indianapolis at home on Sunday night in Week 2 after hosting the Denver Broncos on “Monday Night Football” on September 14 to kick off the season.
The NFL didn’t discuss Mahomes’ status with him, Reid continued, but he is encouraged with what he has observed thus far in the offseason program.
After suffering a serious knee injury, Mahomes is in a race to be healthy for the upcoming NFL season. “He’s doing great right now and that’s kind of how you gotta go about this,” Reid remarked.
People remark, “Well, he’s ahead of schedule.” Who created the timetable? Since each person is unique, let’s just go day by day.
“He spends seven hours here going through it; nobody is spending more time than he is rehabbing.” He hasn’t missed a day, and he desires everything that Patrick Mahomes possesses.
“As we move forward and get a little closer to the game, let’s see where we are.”
