Paddy McGuinness ‘despised’ his wife Christine joining the cast of the Real Housewives of Cheshire.

Paddy McGuinness, Christine McGuinness’s husband, didn’t appreciate her being on Real Housewives of Cheshire because he didn’t want her to have a public presence.

Paddy McGuinness “despises” his wife Christine McGuinness’s appearance on The Real Housewives of Cheshire and “asks her to leave the show at the end of each series,” according to reports.

When she told her husband, Top Gear host Chris Evans, that she was joining the cast of the ITVBe reality program, he was not pleased, according to the 33-year-old actress.

Christine claims in her new book A Beautiful Nightmare that she was approached several times to join the popular series, but she always declined.

The model revealed of the moment she told Paddy she’d accepted to be a part of the show: “Let’s just say it wasn’t well received at home.

“Patrick was adamant that I not establish a public profile. He was extremely adamant that I not participate in this program.

“He assumed it was all about the glitz and glam and flaunting your wealth, which is completely unlike my everyday existence. But it was a chance to make a difference.

“And as much as my husband despised it and didn’t want me to be a part of it, he should be thankful for it because it distracted me from what was going on at home.”

Christine joined the reality show’s cast at the same time when photos of Paddy arm-in-arm with another lady surfaced.

Top Exceptional host Christine wasn’t the only one who didn’t want her to join the world of reality television.

Christine’s mother was concerned that she appeared to be a “stereotypical Cheshire Housewife.”

The TV personality explained, “Not everyone understood my motivations for wanting to do it, and you feel s**t having to defend yourself, especially when you’re already apprehensive.”

“For the first time in my life, I was leaving the children and going on television, exposing myself to the public eye. There was a lot to consider.” After two years on the show, Christine left her Guest Housewife role in 2010.

The blonde bombshell explained her decision to leave the show by saying: “It simply didn’t fit into my life any more.

“I’d always wanted to be cautious, making sure I wasn’t leaving the show solely because Patrick wanted me to. He’d tell me not to watch the next series at the end of each one.

“But I’d arrived at my destination. The news is summarized by Brinkwire.
