Oxford Street in London is closed as a 3-year-old girl is transported to hospital following a horrific accident.
A THREE-YEAR-OLD GIRL was rushed to the hospital after an accident on London’s Oxford Street.
Police have closed off the bustling London street, according to images shared on social media. “Oxford Street #London road closed Police incident,” one individual tweeted. Officers had cordoned off the area near the Body Shop, which is located on the junction of James and Oxford Streets.
“Police were called to Oxford Street, close to the junction with James Street, at 17:59hrs following allegations of a youngster being struck by a cyclist,” a Metropolitan Police spokesperson said.
“When officers arrived, they discovered a three-year-old girl who had been thrown to the ground.
“They gave first aid until the London Ambulance Service arrived.
“As a precaution, the youngster was transferred to a west London hospital, but her injuries were determined to be non-life threatening and non-life changing.
“The biker came to a halt at the site and was approached by cops.
“A cordon was erected to aid emergency response, but it has since been lifted.”
According to reports, one ambulance and three police vans were dispatched.
A stretcher is thought to have been used to transport someone.
According to a man who spoke to MyLondon, a “bike crashed into small toddlers.”
Another person stated that they believed a “road accident” had occurred.
The cops have since left the location and the cordon has been lifted.
Buses and other vehicles that had been stranded on the London roadway can now move again.
