According to reports, a Northern California arrest warrant has been issued for San Francisco 49ers standout Brandon Aiyuk.
The California Post reports that the receiver is wanted on a misdemeanor charge of demonstration of speed. San Francisco was unable to locate him at the end of April despite their wish to trade him.
According to reports, the Santa Clara County District Attorney’s Office has verified that it stems from a video that Aiyuk uploaded in December, in which he was seen traveling at above 100 mph.
In his Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing, he was observed driving at those ridiculous speeds on Santa Clara roads; at one point, he even reached 104 mph as he passed the 49ers’ Levi’s Stadium.
Aiyuk, 28, promised followers that his “car content won’t come with speeding anymore” after apologizing for his actions on social media at the time.
However, the Santa Clara Police Department opened an investigation into the video, and six months after his online post, the AWOL 49ers player is now wanted by law enforcement.
According to reports, a warrant has been issued for the arrest of San Francisco 49ers player Brandon Aiyuk.
Due to a December video, Aiyuk is wanted on a misdemeanor allegation of displaying speed.
Ryan Williams, Aiyuk’s agent, has been contacted by The Daily Mail for comment.
Aiyuk, who didn’t play a single game for the 49ers in 2025, will not be going back to San Francisco after his contract’s $27 million guarantee was revoked since he neglected to attend team meetings and other events.
Despite having a four-year, $120 million deal with $76 million guaranteed, he hasn’t played since tearing his meniscus, ACL, and MCL during a game against the Kansas City Chiefs in October 2024.
It is widely anticipated that he will play his final game for the Niners.
“He hasn’t been in clear constant communication with the Niners, they’ve had a hard time getting hold of him,” ESPN’s Adam Schefter stated during an appearance on The Pat McAfee Show at the end of April, claiming that Aiyuk’s departure is taking longer than anticipated because San Francisco executives and several potential suitors are having trouble reaching him.
It’s a situation where the 49ers feel like… Brandon Aiyuk would love to be released so he can go and rejoin his college teammate Jayden Daniels in Washington; that’s a prevailing thought out there. Other teams, I believe, have tried to reach out, but they’ve had trouble getting hold of him. But the Niners are like, “We don’t really care, we’ve got some time between now and camp opening and we’re not just gonna give him away unless we feel like we can get something back for him.”‘
This offseason, the receiver—who hasn’t played for San Francisco since injuring his meniscus, ACL, and MCL against the Kansas City Chiefs in 2024—is expected to depart the organization.
The NFL insider also described how Aiyuk’s massive deal, which includes a $24.935 million option bonus, is discouraging teams from looking to trade for him even if San Francisco voided his remaining guarantees when he neglected to attend required knee rehabilitation sessions.
However, general manager John Lynch recently invited offers for the undesirable wide receiver, indicating that the Niners are still determined to get rid of him.
“We’re available.” “Give us a call,” Lynch said to reporters. He’s a really gifted player, and as I mentioned before, I believe it’s the right thing to do. In our league, he has been a very productive player; things didn’t work out here. That doesn’t mean it can’t be reignited somewhere else, though. And if the chance arose, we would be delighted to collaborate with anyone.
