Olivia Wilde has addressed a red carpet video that went viral and led haters to liken her to Gollum from The Lord of the Rings.
In a video posted online, the 42-year-old actress appeared at the San Francisco International Film Festival looking emaciated and wide-eyed, which alarmed her fan base.
Although the director admitted that it didn’t present her in the greatest light, he is now attributing her startling appearance to the camera’s distorting fisheye lens.
On Saturday, she posted a video to Instagram Stories with the message, “Leave it to your little brother to give you the maximum amount of s***.”
She laughed off the goof and remarked, “I don’t know why I was so close to the camera; I didn’t have to be.” “Do you have any more questions?” she asked Charlie Cockburn, her younger sibling, who could be seen chuckling out of the frame. “I’m not dead,” asserted Wilde.

A video of Wilde’s gaunt, wide-eyed face from the San Francisco International Film Festival went viral, igniting internet discussion about her most recent public appearance.
“Olivia Wilde, do you care to address recent rumours that you’re a resurrected corpse?” Cockburn said at the beginning of the clip.
In the recording, the Booksmart director was lounging outside in a dark jacket and grey hoodie, wrapped in a blanket.
Wearing a baseball cap and pulling the hood of her sweatshirt over her head, she laughed at her brother’s mocking comments.
Over 10 million people have watched the viral film festival movie, and many expressed their dismay on social media.
On X, a user commented, “First, Olivia Wilde appears to have been overdoing the GLP-1s, and now Angelina Jolie appears to be the ghost of her former self.” What are these actresses going through?
“What the hell is going on in Hollywood at the moment?” enquired another.
Wilde looked stylish at the occasion wearing a basic white T-shirt that was fitted, and her hair was pulled back with a bow.
She also included a flowing black satin skirt with a short train and asymmetrical hem.
In an Instagram video, Wilde laughed off the goof and said, “I don’t know why I was so close to the camera; I didn’t have to be.”
