NSW Police senior constables charged with child sex offences

Two police officers have been charged with child sex offences and producing child abuse material.

NSW Police suspended the two officers after they were arrested in Sydney’s west in the early hours of Wednesday morning. 

The two male senior constables, aged 29 and 30, had their homes raided and items seized, before being taken to Hurstville Police Station and charged.

The 29-year-old man was charged with attempted aggravated sexual assault in company, produce child abuse material, and misconduct in public office

The 30-year-old man was charged with incite aggravated sexual assault, attempted aggravated sexual assault in company, and produce child abuse material.

Their arrests came after an investigation by the NSW Police Professional Standards Commission into police misconduct.

Both were refused bail and will appear in Sutherland Local Court on Wednesday.

The officers have been suspended without pay and investigations are continuing.
