EastEnders actress Nina Wadia has said the glitter got absolutely everywhere when she was a contestant on Strictly Come Dancing and that her husband was not a fan

Nina Wadia has revealed the glitter got everywhere when she was on Strictly Come Dancing – and her husband hated it.

The EastEnders actress was a contestant on the current series of the BBC ballroom show but was the first person to be booted off the dancefloor after failing to impress the judges with her moves.

Appearing on daytime show Steph’s Packed Lunch, she admitted all the sequins and sparkle on the programme proved to be a bit of a problem when it came to snuggling up at night with her hubby, composer Raiomond Mirza.

Celebrity chef Simon Rimmer was also on the programme, and as he is also a Strictly veteran he commiserate with Nina about the glitter getting absolutely everywhere, even in your clothes and underwear.

Nina agreed and confessed: “My husband hates glitter!

“Even when we get those invites where they have got little bits of confetti in them, he says, why do people do that?

“And then in bed he was like, what is this stuff? And I was like, I don’t know! Coming out of every orifice!”

Nina and her pro partner Neil Jones were eliminated from Strictly earlier this month after a dance-off against celebrity contestant Katie McGlynn and her dance partner Gorka Marquez.

The Goodness Gracious Me star later admitted that she was “gutted” to have been voted off the competition so early.

Speaking to presenter Rylan Clark-Neal on Strictly Come Dancing spin-off show It Takes Two, she said: “I was gutted for sure.”

“I had so much more to give and I wanted to spend so much more time with (Neil) – more than my husband!” she joked.

Simon strutted his stuff on Strictly back in 2017, when he was paired with pro Karen Clifton. The couple were the fifth to get their marching orders.
