Fans are certain that Myles Garrett’s Olympic-star girlfriend was involved in the shocking deal that sent shockwaves through the NFL when he signed with the Los Angeles Rams this week.
In exchange for another defensive end, Jared Verse, a 2027 first-round pick, a 2028 second-round pick, and a 2029 third-round pick, the Cleveland Browns agreed to deal Garrett, a seven-time Pro Bowl defensive end, to the Rams.
With head coach Sean McVay ravenous for glory and 38-year-old quarterback Matthew Stafford, the NFL MVP from the previous season, still playing at such a high level, the historic deal almost likely makes LA favorites to win the Super Bowl in the upcoming season.
When the Browns revised Garrett’s contract in March, delaying his options bonuses and making it simpler to trade him, the organization sparked interest in him.
NFL fans feel that Garrett’s girlfriend, two-time Olympic champion snowboarder Chloe Kim, was probably one of the driving forces behind the transfer, even if a number of factors had to come together for it to occur. Kim is from Long Beach, California.
NFL fans think Chloe Kim helped Myles Garrett complete a huge move to Los Angeles.
This week, the Browns decided to trade seven-time Pro Bowl defensive end Garrett to the Rams. One person commented on X, “Chloe Kim said you better move to LA, I’m not going to Cleveland.”
Another person commented, “Myles Garrett’s girlfriend, Chloe Kim, had an influence in this trade.”
“Chloe Kim, I can’t prove it, but I know you had something to do with this,” said a third commenter.
A fourth said, “Chloe Kim is working behind the scenes to bring her man to Los Angeles.” I admire it.
Before discussing his girlfriend’s connections to the city, Garrett revealed that his father is from Los Angeles during his Rams debut on Tuesday.
“I obviously love and appreciate that Chloe is from here and that we live in the same city,” he remarked.
After being romantically linked in May 2025, Garrett and Kim have been dating for just over a year.
The NFL player recently traveled from the San Francisco Bay Area to Italy to support his fiancée at the Winter Olympics, where he witnessed her painfully miss out on a halfpipe threepeat.
Kim, a snowboarder from Long Beach, California, has won two Olympics.
Garrett’s blockbuster deal was confirmed on Tuesday night, and he arrived in Los Angeles. Only recently, following a trip to Japan with Kim, did he return to the United States.
With the Rams competing in the NFC West in 2026 with Super Bowl winners the Seattle Seahawks and fellow championship contenders the San Francisco 49ers, the transaction creates one of the most packed divisions the NFL has ever seen.
They play their first game of the season in September in Melbourne, Australia, against the Niners.
In addition to signing Jaylen Watson to a three-year contract and trading for excellent cornerback Trent McDuffie from the Kansas City Chiefs, the Rams now have Garrett as part of a defense that will intimidate the NFL.
Over the past three seasons alone, Garrett has amassed an incredible 51 sacks, more than any other NFL player.
He became the first player to record 12 sacks in six consecutive seasons last year, and he has an impeccable injury record—he has only missed one game due to injury in the previous six seasons.
