TWO basketball stars were ejected from the court after a fight broke out towards the end of the game.
Toronto Raptors’ Serge Ibaka and Cleveland Cavaliers’ Marquese Chriss threw punches as tempers boiled over at the close of the third quarter.
The Cavaliers led 91-77 with one second to go before the buzzer in the NBA clash.
Ibaka and Chriss both went for the ball following a full-court pass as they tried to beat the buzzer to end the quarter.
After Ibaka fell to the ground, he got up and shoved Chriss from behind.
Cleveland’s young forward looked to stare down Ibaka as he lay on the court following the turnover.
“Ibaka should leave the NBA and join Monday Night Raw”
Footage showed Ibaka seemed to react to something said by Chriss, as he leapt up and grabbed him by the throat and aimed a punch at his head.
Both players then got involved in a fistfight before Ibaka finally walked away.
They were both promptly ejected from the court.
Their punishments haven’t been confirmed, but it’s likely both will be suspended for at least a couple of games.
Fans watching Monday’s game couldn’t believe what they were seeing.
Patrick joked on Twitter: “Ibaka should leave the NBA and join Monday Night Raw.”
Manny tweeted: “Ibaka really tried to hit Chriss with the Undertaker chokeslam on national TV.”
Some fans were furious both players had been ejected after Ibaka had started the fight.
One supporter wrote on Twitter: “Ibaka went at Marquese Chriss and both get ejected.”
While Ibaka walked straight off the court, Chriss stayed on for several seconds, looking reluctant to go.
The 126-101 defeat is a blow to the Raptors, who sit second in the Eastern Conference, but whose form has dipped in recent weeks.
Cleveland Cavaliers — without former talisman LeBron James — lie second-bottom in the Eastern Conference and have nothing to play for but pride.
