The long-running conflict between himself and divisive football pundit Kane Cornes is real, according to veteran AFL media figure Nathan Brown.
According to reports, Cornes called Brown “brave or stupid” for a choice he made that had an impact on the Sunday Footy Show’s substance.
According to reports, Cornes made the remark following Brown’s inclusion of Channel 7 gaffes in his Media-Ocre segment.
Since then, Brown has been questioned on Triple M’s Sunday Rub over their relationship.
He was questioned about how they communicate with one another when they have to collaborate on Sportsbet.
“We pretend and part ways,” Brown answered.
Nathan Brown (pictured) has talked candidly about his continuing conflict with Kane Cornes.
There are both many fans and detractors of the divisive football commentator (photo).
He has defended the nature of the TV show’s part in spite of Cornes’ remark. “He said I was very brave… he questioned whether I was stupid or brave,” Brown stated. “I’m not criticising anyone.” We joke about with folks in a really light-hearted way; it’s never harsh because we put ourselves in it.
While some people in the profession do occasionally act rudely, we most surely don’t.
Days after Cornes announced his resignation from the Rising Star judging panel and the AFL All Australian selection panel, tensions have increased.
After Sportsbet prohibited serving sports officials from appearing on its programming, he took this action.
Following the Nick Foot controversy, in which the AFL umpire’s employment with Sportsbet was considered a conflict of interest, the betting company made this move.
Cornes had the option to leave the bookmaker, but he disclosed that doing so would have violated an existing agreement.
