An Australian home cook has revealed how he made an indulgent ‘nacho lasagne’ using the 3.2 litre Kmart air fryer.
Jordie posted to a popular air fryer cookery group on Facebook and said he decided to make the simple dish on a whim after arriving home late from work.
Similarly to a lasagne, Jordie created layers of nacho chips alternating with fillings of mince meat, cheese, onion and an array of other ingredients.
The Queensland local said it was the ‘best nachos’ he’s ever eaten and that he ‘can’t live without the air fryer’.
The online post went on to receive more than 370 likes , with many agreeing the recipe is a great idea for a budget dinner meal.
To make the dish he also used capsicum, nacho mix, tomato paste, salsa, refried beans, avocado, tomato, lemon lime and guacamole on the side.
When making the meal, it’s essential to place a sheet of baking paper inside the air fryer to minimise mess and to easily remove the meal from the kitchen appliance.
Jordie first preheated the air fryer at 180 degrees Celsius, cooked the ingredients in a fry pan then started to create the layers inside the cooking gadget.
Nacho fans were both delighted and impressed with the simple recipe, and many were left wanting to make the unique dish themselves.
‘Definitely making this, thank you for sharing. It looks amazing!’ one woman said.
‘Looks so good, we could get very fat, very quick,’ another joked and tagged a friend.
And this isn’t the first time an amateur home cook has made nachos for dinner in an air fryer.
Earlier this month Jessie, from Perth, Western Australia, made ‘loaded nachos’ with Dorito corn chips, salsa, tasty cheese, bacon bits, sour cream, guacamole and chipotle sauce.
She cooked the nachos for only 15 minutes at 180 degrees Celsius and shared photos of the tasty meal to the same Facebook group dedicated to air fryer recipes.
