My Massive Fats Gypsy Marriage ceremony star Paddy Doherty reveals most cancers analysis

GYPSY Paddy Doherty is having two life-saving operations to beat prostate cancer after he admitted to contemplating suicide.

The bare-knuckle fighter spent seven months in pain after contracting the disease.

Ahead of the operations, he is speaking out to encourage other men to seek help.

The 60-year-old, who lives on a traveller site in Wales, said: “I’ve been to hell and back with this and it’s worse than getting a horrendous beating.

“The pain got so bad that I actually thought about taking my own life.

“I just couldn’t do that to my family, and instead I just drank myself into oblivion.

“And it was my wife who suggested I should speak out about the condition.

“She said it might encourage other men to get themselves checked out.”

Nearly 12,000 men die in the UK from the aggressive form of cancer every year, making it the second deadliest type for males.

Paddy, star of hit TV show Big Fat Gypsy Weddings, first noticed his health was deteriorating at the funeral of his nephew.

The father-of-10 started “dreading” going for a wee and started passing blood in his urine – which prompted him to go and see a doctor.

He said: “After several tests, he told me straight: ‘Paddy, you’ve got cancer.’ I know people think I’ve got this tough image but I just started stuttering.” P

addy now faces two operations at Manchester Royal Infirmary and said: “This has been the biggest battle of my life.”
