Mums across Australia are now using a garlic dip from Aldi to add a burst of flavour to roasted vegetables.
The idea first surfaced on social media after home cook Suzanne shared images to the Aldi Mums Facebook group – which exceeds 137,000 members.
The Mediterranean Delite garlic dip has increased in popularity over the past month after customers started praising it online.
The product is also sold at other leading supermarkets including Woolworths for $3.50.
Suzanne said she combined the dip with chopped raw cauliflower, sprinkled olive oil, salt, pepper, chilli spice and parmesan cheese before roasting the vegetable in the oven at 170 degrees Celsius for half an hour until tender.
‘Found another way to use the garlic dip! Was soo good!’ she said.
The social media post received more than 900 ‘likes’ and others were impressed by the idea.
‘I’ve gotta try this,’ one person said, another added: ‘I’m on keto – this is very acceptable! Thank you for the recipe!!’
‘I added a tub to my pasta bake, was soo good,’ a third said.
‘Genius!!! Well done,’ another added and tagged a friend.
Last month another mum used the same dip to make ‘mini garlic cheesy pizza bread’ at home and amazed hundreds online.
Tracie, from Brisbane, Queensland, made the tasty snack by layering garlic dip and cheese on top of a slice of bread.
‘Don’t know if this has been done before, but felt like a late night naughty snack,’ she said and posted a photo to the Aldi Mums Facebook group.
‘So garlic dip spread generously on a slice of bread, then topped with cheese and put under the grill – mini garlic cheesy pizza bread.’
