Mercedes driver filmed mowing down man in street before reversing to try and hit him again

A MERCEDES driver was filmed mowing down a man in the street before reversing to try and hit him again.

In the disturbing footage the motorist can be seen smashing into the man before reversing to attempt to run him over again.

The shocking incident was filmed on Taveners Road in Peterborough, Cambridgeshire on Saturday August 22.

It is unknown what sparked the road rage incident.

The video shows bystanders yell in terror as the motorist ploughs into the man during a heated argument.

Moments later the pedestrian can be seen flying from the car’s bonnet and landing crumpled on the street.

Astonishingly, the man manages to pick himself up and starts yelling along with his female companion at the motorist as he reverses his car back into the road.

And as the couple walks away, the driver mounts the pavement and attempts to plough into the man a second time.

But the car narrowly misses the pedestrian.

As the Mercedes car drives off once more, the man smacks on the vehicle window in anger and the woman screams at the driver to leave.

Social media users were left shocked by the clip.

One user wrote “As if my man got mowed down by a benz but got back up quick”

Another individual commented: “Is anyone else as surprised as I am by how he managed to get back up after being mowed down like that?!”

A third exclaimed: “HOW DID HE GET BACK UP”

Cambridgeshire Police have since made two arrests in connection with the incident.

A 25-year-old man from London was arrested on suspicion of causing injury by dangerous driving, possessing an offensive weapon in a public place, namely a metal baseball bat, and drug driving.

A 19-year-old woman from Peterborough was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving and theft.

Both have been released on bail until 16 September.
