Meghan Markle poses with stacks of her books as she reads a birthday greeting from the Duchess of Sussex.

MEGHAN MARKLE celebrated her 40th birthday by launching a new fundraising campaign to assist some of the women who have lost their jobs as a result of the COVID-19 issue.

To commemorate her 40th birthday, Meghan announced a new initiative called 40×40. On her website Archewell.com, she posted a lighthearted video in which she shares the spotlight with actress Melissa McCarthy to promote this new initiative.

Meghan is dressed in a light-colored suit and beige heels in the video.

The Duchess of Sussex is sitting at a large desk adjacent to a second chair draped with a £1,240 Hermes blanket with a ‘H’ draped over it, looking at a laptop positioned on a stack of her first children’s book, The Bench, which was published on June 8.

In front of Meghan, a second stack of books can be seen beside the laptop.

Meghan has also placed a tray with biscuits and a cup of black tea on the table, which she uses at the end of the film to bid her companion farewell.

Meghan isn’t alone in the room; her faithful beagle Guy is curled up next to the stone fireplace behind her.

Prince Harry appears towards the end of the video, attempting to juggle three balls outside the window.

After a few jokes with Ms McCarthy, the Duchess of Sussex explains in the two-minute video that she wants to make her 40th birthday even more special by inviting 40 of her friends around the world to mentor or help women in need who are seeking to re-enter the profession.

Meghan told the actress that she feels that if all of her 40 friends joined her in this endeavor and committed to it, they might have a “ripple effect.”

“In reflecting on my 40th birthday and the many things I am grateful for, I’m struck that TIME IS AMONG OUR GREATEST AND MOST ESSENTIAL GIFTS: time with our loved ones, time doing the things we love, time spent learning, laughing, growing, and the sacred time we have on this earth,” the Duchess said.

“Time spent in service is one of the most valued gifts of time.”Brinkwire Summary News”.
