MEGHAN Markle is reportedly finding it difficult deciding who she can trust these days.
The Duchess of Sussex’s relationships before Prince Harry are said to have fallen by the wayside as she struggles to know who she can let in to her inner circle since the royal wedding.
A source said: “Meghan has lost touch with some of her close friends from before the wedding, which has been tough.
“She’s finding it hard to know who to trust.”
The insider said Meghan Markle, 37, has cut her circle of friends down to a select few she can count on.
“She’s finding it hard to know who to trust”
The revelations comes as family feuds are played out to the public, which helps explain the young royal’s reticence in forming relationships to those who could anonymously speak to the media.
Those inside Meghan’s circle of trust reportedly include her makeup artist Daniel Martin, and her stylist Jessica Mulroney — whom she recently secretly visited in Toronto in August.
“There’s a small group of us that check in with her and see how she’s doing, but she’s still the same person,” her pal Martin has said.
Being guarded comes with the territory of being part of the Royal Family, as royal observer Patricia Treble recently noted: “You look at all the senior royals, and they’re incredibly careful about whom they’re friends with.
“They end up having lots of ‘acquaintances’, or people who ‘know them’.”
Fellow royal-watcher Emily Nash agrees, saying Meghan “is getting used to a more discreet social life… she is still going to be seeing and speaking to her most trusted friends just as before.”
While Meghan remains close to her mum Doria Ragland, who recently moved to the UK to be closer to her daughter, she’s very publicly estranged from others.
Her dad Thomas Markle, has continually criticised her and her new husband in the press, while her half-sister Samantha Grant has also slammed her in explosive TV appearances.
“It was very wearing on her. It’s her private life,” said the source, adding: “The beginning of marriages are not that easy, but to have that impetus of your own family being disloyal is horrible and embarrassing.“
Samantha again took to Twitter for yet another attack: “I am not candy coating anything anymore!
“The DUCHA** should be humane to our father who has given her everything and this media crap can stop!”
“He was the one who was always there for her. Fake waves and smiles can stop. The ducha** can bow to the daddy,” she tweeted.
