Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s post-Megxit vow to the Queen has ‘gone down the toilet,’ according to the Daily Mail.
A royal expert has accused Meghan Markle and Prince Harry of breaking a promise they made to the Queen.
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry allegedly informed the Queen that they would “not utilize the throne” for profit, according to Angela Levin. They have, however, done so in recent months, she added.
“How many more times is Prince Harry going to trash the royal family while clinging to all the best elements of it?” the royal biographer wrote in a comment post for the Sun.
“When Harry and Meghan went for America, they told the Queen that they would not exploit the monarchy to generate money,” she continued.
“It’s all gone down the toilet, and they’re not going to stop.”
Prince Harry and Meghan have never indicated publicly that they will not profit from their royal connections.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex pledged to “uphold” Her Majesty’s ideals, according to a statement released by Buckingham Palace on January 18 following the so-called Sandringham Summit between the Queen, Prince Charles, Prince William, and Prince Harry.
“They recognize that they are expected to step aside from Royal obligations, including official military assignments, as agreed in this new arrangement,” the statement read.
“For Royal duties, they will no longer get public funds.
“The Sussexes will continue to maintain their own patronages and relationships with The Queen’s blessing.
“While the Sussexes can no longer formally represent The Queen, they have made it clear that whatever they do will follow Her Majesty’s values.”
The royals also decided that while Prince Harry and Meghan will have their titles, they would no longer be able to use their HRH styles after March 2020.
In February 2020, it was also stated that the Sussexes will no longer be able to use the term “royal” in their branding.
“The Duke and Duchess are focused on plans to establish a new non-profit organization, given the specific UK government rules surrounding the use of the word ‘Royal,’ it has been agreed that their non-profit organization will not use the name ‘Sussex Royal’ or any other iteration of ‘Royal,’” according to a statement on the now-defunct SussexRoyal website.
Meghan and Harry also lost the protection provided by the UK taxpayers by stepping down as senior royals.
In February 2021, the Queen demanded them to relinquish all of their military and royal patronages.
