Meghan Markle admitted to not recognizing the national anthem of England, saying, “Am I supposed to?!?”

DUCHESS OF SUSSEX MEGHAN MARKLE admitted she didn’t know what England’s national emblem was during a flashback interview in which the Duchess of Sussex’s British knowledge was put to the test.

Meghan’s trajectory was significantly different from that of her sister-in-law, Kate Middleton, who spent most of her adult life being groomed for a royal role. She was a successful actress before she began dating Prince Harry in 2016, and her big break came when she appeared in the legal drama Suits. On her lifestyle blog, ‘The Tig,’ she once characterized herself as a California girl who “lives by the ethos that most things can be treated with either yoga, the beach, or a few avocados.”

It’s not surprising, therefore, that Meghan stated during their post-engagement interview in 2017 that she “didn’t know anything” about Harry before meeting him.

Meghan also looked to be unprepared on the subject of “Britishness” in a recently unearthed interview.

Meghan – who was at the time most known for her acting skills – was quizzed on her British knowledge in a 2016 Dave interview.

When asked what England’s national animal was, the future Duchess of Sussex was stumped.

“Am I meant to know that?” she inquired.

“You don’t know that,” she said, looking behind the camera.

“She has no idea either.”

Meghan retorted with surprise when the animal was finally revealed to her: “It’s a lion.”

“How appropriate!” exclaims the speaker.

Her understanding of all things British has undoubtedly improved since then.

Meghan, on the other hand, stated in an interview with Oprah Winfrey in March that she had no official training on how to be a member of the Royal Family before joining.

“There were some things you couldn’t do,” she explained.

“However, unlike what you see in the movies, there is no instruction on how to speak, cross your legs, or act regal.

“There’s no such thing as training.

“It’s possible that this is true for other family members. That was not an option presented to me.”

Meghan stated that no one had prepped her or told her what to expect, so she learned the British national anthem and hymns sung in church services on her own.

“Even down to the national anthem,” she continued. No one said, ‘Oh, you’re an American.’ That’s something you’re not going to know.’

She claimed she had to learn several hymns by googling the national anthem. “Brinkwire News in Condensed Form.”
