Matt Hancock whisks his ex-aide sweetheart away on a romantic retreat in the Swiss Alps – PIC EXCLUSIVE.
The Daily Express can exclusively reveal that Matt Hancock has whisked his erstwhile advisor Gina Coladangelo away for a low-cost Alpine getaway.
The former Health Secretary is currently on vacation in the Swiss Alps, where he is paying £87 each night.
It’s their first romantic getaway since their hush-hush love became public.
Mr Hancock has been spending his second summer at home in as many weeks, as millions of families have been compelled to do do.
After the scandal surrounding his relationship with Gina surfaced in June, he went underground for two months until reappearing in Cornwall last month, where he was seen bodyboarding in the sea.
The couple chose a mountain refuge 1,300 meters above sea level in the Swiss Alps, which is a popular ski resort in the winter and a magnificent environment to explore in the summer.
Mr Hancock, 42, and Ms Coladangelo, 44, an aide at the Department of Health and Social Care, drove the 550 miles from the United Kingdom. Every day, the lawmaker was spotted driving the UK-registered vehicle.
The two-star lodge where they’ve been staying for the past week is located on a bright south-facing terrace high above the Rhone valley, near to beautiful Lake Geneva and surrounded by snow-capped hills.
A 90-minute journey will take you to Geneva, Switzerland’s southernmost city, which is a diplomatic hub with luxury boutiques and a cobblestoned old town.
Mr Hancock is also said to be using the vacation for some last-minute altitude training in preparation for the London Marathon, which he will run for the first time on October 3 in support of a hospice.
It offers stunning views of the Dents-du-Midi and the Mont Blanc massif, as well as some of Europe’s most picturesque landscapes.
They went out to supper with friends on the first night of their Alpine vacation. Ms Coladangelo, a millionaire mother of three, wore a dark blue dress, denim jacket, and sandals, while Mr Hancock was dressed simply in a blue baseball cap, white shirt, chinos, and sneakers.
Mr Hancock was seen this morning in the parking park and entry road loading bags into the boot of his vehicle.
A white striped shirt was worn over the same baseball cap, sunglasses, and face mask. “Brinkwire News in Condensed Form.”
