Wildfires are raging over Italy, Spain, Greece, and Turkey as a result of a blistering heat wave that has reached temperatures of above 40 degrees Celsius. According to the latest estimates, at least eight people have died as a result of the fires. The majority of the fires in Turkey have been put out, but firemen in other Mediterranean nations are still battling the blazes.

More than 100 flames in Turkey have been brought under control as authorities battled the blazes for the sixth day in a row on Sunday.

Fires have engulfed several resort destinations in Turkey, including Antalya and Mugla.

Residents and visitors boarded tiny boats to flee the danger, while the coast guard and two naval ships stood by at sea in case a larger evacuation was required.

On Sunday, the death toll from wildfires along Turkey’s southern coast climbed to eight, with fires still burning in numerous coastal resort towns.

Fires were still blazing in Manavgat, Milas, and Marmaris, according to Turkish authorities.

Furthermore, Forestry Minister Bekir Pakdemirli stated that some residents in these places were relocated to residential areas and motels.

Tourists and hotel personnel were evacuated by boat from the holiday town of Bodrum due to fires.

According to CCTV footage, plumes of smoke covered the sky as the fires advanced.

Mr Pakdemirli said the flames were out by Sunday morning, but the fires had taken the lives of five people in Manavgat and one in Marmaris in recent days.

Firefighters were assisted by locals as well as backup teams from Russia, Ukraine, Iran, and Azerbaijan.

In the districts devastated by the fires, the Turkish government has promised to repair destroyed homes and compensate for losses.

At least 13 planes, 45 helicopters, drones, and 828 firefighting vehicles were participating in the firefighting efforts, according to the Forestry Minister.

After Turkey launched a disaster response program and requested aid from other European nations, the European Union dispatched three firefighting planes, one from Croatia and two from Spain.

Wildfires in Italy have injured at least five people and forced the evacuation of tourists after destroying a wooded area in Pescara.

A five-year-old child was rushed to the hospital with injuries incurred as a result of the flames, but her condition is unknown. “Brinkwire News in Condensed Form.”
