UNEASY: Mark Ronson and Diplo didn’t always see eye to eye

The old pals teamed with Dua Lipa for new single Electricity, which is rising up the charts.

But as both men are huge producers in their own right, they didn’t always see eye to eye in the studio.

Mark told me: “It’s a good thing that we came into it as friends.

“At the beginning we had some stupid fights as I had never really been in a band situation before.”

“We can sometimes be in a territory where I feel a little less comfortable”

In the end it was appreciating each other’s areas of expertise that made Silk City a success. Mark said: “I think we had a level of mutual respect that helped to clear out the ‘other person thing’.

“When we work I might not always think that this is the best synth sound but at the same time I respect what he’s done. I wouldn’t be going out on a limb to say his stuff is always more future leaning.

“We can sometimes be in a territory where I feel a little less comfortable and then I go: ‘Well I trust him.’ Then sometimes it’s the other way round and I’m like: ‘Nah this is supposed to be the sound of piano or the guitar.’”

Silk City was named after the venue where they first met.

He explained: “There’s this iconic diner in Philadelphia called Silk City. Fifteen years after we first met there we were working on our first bit of music. And then I went: ‘What was the name of that diner?’ He said: ‘Silk City.’ I went: ‘That’s the best name ever.’”

Electricity is already a huge smash and Mark championed Dua, left, as a future mega star – calling her “rarefied air”.

LADY Gaga says she had a connection with Bradley Cooper the moment she saw him.

The A Star Is Born actors bonded over their family heritage and love of food.

Gaga said: “We’re both from Italian families. I cooked him some pasta and before I knew it, he said: ‘I would like to sing with you, if that’s OK.’”

ROCKERS Ghost continued to take the UK by storm thanks to latest album Prequelle and turned this historic venue into a chapel of unrest.

Ghost is the brainchild of Swedish musician Tobias Forge, who wears heavy make-up as the band’s singer, and regenerates for each album like Doctor Who.

The latest version is Cardinal Copia, who’s got creepy, hollow eyes and some rude banter. He suggested the song Mummy Dust has the power to “tickle [our] tits” and “make [our] asses wobble”.

The Cardinal was backed by a masked seven-piece band of ghouls that made tunes Absolution and From The Pinnacle To The Pit explode.

They will be haunting arenas in no time.

ROSE McGowan has called on more magazines to help women.

The actor, a huge force behind the #MeToo campaign, hopes receiving the Inspiration Award at this year’s GQ Men of the Year Award will break a barrier.

She told GQ: “It took a men’s magazine to give me an award, because no women’s magazines have stepped up. People always assume I have support from feminist foundations or women’s magazines and I can say that’s not true.”

See the full feature in the October issue of GQ, out now.
