X FACTOR All Stars has divided fans of the long-running ITV series.
X Factor All Stars has been met with a mixed reaction from fans, but even more so with former contestants.
Stars including Olly Murs and Saara Alto claimed the show needs to be axed for a couple of years, and now finalist Marcus Collins has weighed in on Simon Cowell’s latest idea.
With ratings taking a nosedive in recent years, Marcus has suggested that bringing back some of the show’s biggest stars is nothing more than a desperate attempt to entice viewers back.
“It seems to be about getting the ratings back up…” he star told Daily Star Online.
However, he’s not ruled out an appearance, adding: “It will be interesting to see how it pans out.”
“For me it would very much depend on the circumstances considering I’m no longer in contact with anyone from the show.”
Last year, Marcus opened up about how tough he found dealing with the level of fame he achieved after the show came to an end.
Speaking to the Loose Women panel, he said: “Watching the clip back where Little Mix are announced as the winners makes my heart pound.
“I remember how much was riding on it and how much it meant to me.
“I was crushed when the girls were announced as the winners.”
At the time, Marcus said that his breaking point was when he lost his record deal and a family member within days of one another.
He explained: “That was a really dark time in my life, but I still had to perform and go up and stage.
“My mental health battle was definitely because of the fame – my whole life became a performance.”
