A man is accused of repeatedly spitting at several police officers in Sydney’s CBD.
Police were called to a George Street hotel on Wednesday evening after reports of an altercation and stopped a 32-year-old man at the nearby Railway Square.
The man was arrested after refusing the provide them with details and trying to walk away, police say.
He allegedly then refused to move on after his identity was established and was arrested again.
Police say he then repeatedly spat at multiple officers while in custody at Day Street Police Station.
He was charged with using offensive language in public, failing to comply with a direction and not complying with a noticed direction regarding spitting – COVID-19.
He was refused bail to appear in Central Local Court later on Thursday.
