The nation’s capital is leading the way when it comes to the amount of cocaine floating around – that’s based on the Home Office stats on the sheer amount seized between 2018 and 2019.
Last year, the UK topped the list of countries when it came to alcohol and drug use, proving that the demand is going strong in the face of the government’s pointless war on drugs. Drug dealers are even pitching in to fight climate change bu cutting down on the use of plastics.
And it seems that snorting, smoking, and ingesting substances is still going strong with the release of the Home Office stats on drug seizure. Londoners are loving their cocaine if the amount of bags seized is anything to go by. The city saw 3,030 bags grabbed by authorities which is a pretty sizeable amount when you consider that 2,278 bags were seized for the entirety of the South East Region, and 1,693 in the North West.
Down South (West), Ketamine is the drug de jour, with the region representing one quarter of the country’s total seized. Things are a tad more laid back in the South East, where weed rules on high. Everyone is doing more drugs by the looks of things overall, with the amount of cocaine, crack, seized for 2018/2018 up by 12 per cent and 20 per cent respectively. Meanwhile, the period saw the highest amount of ecstasy commandeered by police since 2006/2007.
The long and short of this is that people want to keep taking drugs and a different approach clearly needs to be adopted, which will never happen. So resources will continue to be frittered away by politicians who almost certainly partake themselves, given their dabbling in other, far worse, nefarious activities. [Vice]
