Lady who was accused of ‘catfishing’ will get DUMPED for masking pimples with make-up

A WOMAN has been accused of “catfishing” her boyfriend when he saw her without make-up.

The 20-year-old, believed to be from the US, explained how she tends to have breakouts on her cheeks and chin.

She covered the spots during six dates with her boyfriend, but decided to ditch make-up for a weekend trip away with pals.

During the trip, her boyfriend started “acting distant” and told her he didn’t want to see her anymore.

Posting on Reddit, the woman wrote: “At first, he didn’t say anything, just looked at me a bit weird.”

She added: “When we were alone, he just told me that he didn’t know I had acne like that. After that, he’s been acting distant the whole trip.

“When we got home that night, he said that it would be for the best to stop seeing each other because he doesn’t like me anymore. As the very last thing, he said that I shouldn’t lead people on like that.”

Writing on the “Am I the a**hole” forum, she continued: “I usually cover up my acne with make-up – however, that’s the only thing I do on my face make-up wise, so I don’t look like a completely different person when I’m make-up less.

“This weekend, me, the guy and a few of our mutual friends went on a backpacking trip and he saw me with no make-up for the first time.”

But the woman’s natural look shocked her partner, who looked at her “weird” throughout the trip.

She continued: “I feel like I dodged a bullet here, but at the same time, it haunts me that he thinks I’m catfishing people and I wonder if anyone else feels the same way.

“I wear make-up because I’m not the biggest fan of my acne and because it makes me feel a bit more confident.”

After sharing the thread on Reddit, the post attracted more than 1,800 comments, with many backing the woman.

One person said: “You’re definitely not catfishing anyone by wearing make-up.

“I mean acne isn’t a huge deal for normal people, potential boyfriend sounds like a really shallow guy to break up over something like that.”

Another added: “If you get with someone and expect them to never have a blemish or some pimples, you have unrealistic expectations and are asking to be let down forever.”

A third shared: “Yeah this guy is gonna have a real fun life with standards that high.”
