KATE Middleton donned jeans, boots and a baggy coat as she went casual on her first day back at work today.
The Duchess of Cambridge was welcomed back to royal duties with open arms – literally – after ending her maternity leave.
She stepped back into the spotlight at a large outdoor learning centre in Paddington, London this afternoon.
Wearing a green jacket, jeans and riding boots Kate arrived at Sayers Croft Forest School and Wildlife Garden to crowds of children.
The excited kids hugged Kate as the beaming royal embraced them back on her first official royal engagement since giving brith to Prince Louis.
Kate was visiting the centre – which receives 5,000 visits from schoolchildren every year – to see how it is helping their emotional and physical well-being.
The forest school gives inner city children the chance to engage with the natural world.
Until today Kate had been on six months of maternity leave as she and Prince William welcomed their third child.
Despite stepping out of the royal spotlight after the birth on April 23, Kate still made several unofficial appearances.
She had attended Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s wedding in May, two days of Wimbledon in July and events on the 100th anniversary of the RAF.
She was also pictured just last weekend attending the wedding of her close friend Sophie Carter.
But on an official basis, today was her first working appearance since her maternity leave.
