Joe Biden was warned by the grieving sister of a Marine killed in the Kabul incident to “burn in hell.”
Joe Biden is claimed to have been urged to “burn in hell” by the sister of a US Marine who died in a terror strike in Kabul.
On Thursday, 13 US marines and at least 169 Afghan civilians were killed in an ISIS-K terror attack on Kabul airport in Afghanistan. On Sunday, US President Joe Biden attended a ceremony in Dover, Delaware for the respectful transfer of remains to the families of fallen servicemen.
Some of the family members of the slain US Marines reacted angrily to Mr Biden during the ceremony.
Lance Corporal Jared Schmitz’s father, Mark Schmitz, claimed he handed the President a photo of his son.
“Don’t ever forget that name,” he urged to Mr. Biden. Never forget that expression.
“Never forget the names of the other twelve.” Also, spend some time learning about their lives.”
Mr Schmitz stated in an interview with The Washington Post that the President responded by saying, “I do know their tales.”
He then stated that after receiving her brother’s remains, the sister of a deceased soldier shouted at Mr Biden.
“I wish you burn in hell!” she is supposed to have yelled. That was my sibling!”
“I can’t fault her for it,” Mr Schmitz told the US site. We’ve all suffered a loss.”
One of the 13 Marines killed, Lance Corporal Rylee McCollum, was accompanied by his family to Dover Air Force Base on Sunday as his remains were returned to the United States.
Despite the fact that the family was offered the opportunity to talk with Mr Biden, only his widow, Jiannah McCollum, accepted.
Roice, one of McCollum’s sisters, told The Washington Post, “He can’t possibly understand.” My father and I were both adamant about not speaking to him.
“You can’t kneel in front of our flag and claim to care about our soldiers.
“You can’t f*** up as badly as he did and then apologize. This was unnecessary, and every life is in his hands.
“His negligence is directly responsible for the thousands of Afghans who will suffer and be tortured.”
ISIS-K deployed two suicide bombers to Hamid Karzai International Airport in Kabul, Afghanistan, on August 26, killing two US Marines.
The first explosion occurred about 6 p.m. local time (1.30 p.m. BST) near the airport’s perimeter, close to the Baron Hotel.
British officials used the guesthouse to screen Afghans wishing to migrate to the United Kingdom. “Brinkwire News in Condensed Form.”
