Joe Biden is a former Vice President of the United States LIVE: The president is dealing with a ‘new crisis,’ with dozens of American students stranded in Kabul.

PRESIDENT Joe Biden is facing a new dilemma, with up to 32 American students stranded in Kabul following the withdrawal of US soldiers.

At least 29 of the students trapped in Afghanistan are reported to be from the Sacramento area, with three more from San Diego’s Cajon Valley. According to the Sacramento-area school system, the 29 California youngsters are from 19 households and have not returned to school for the 2021-2022 school year.

“We stand ready to support these students and families in any manner that we can,” a school district spokesman told Newsweek. “We are working directly with state elected officials to send them information as we receive it from our families.”

“Our Afghan community, as well as all those whose loved ones are now in Afghanistan, are supported by San Juan Unified.

“We wish them a swift and safe return to the United States and to our school communities.”

Both the Department of Defense and the State Department have been alerted to the terrifying scenario.

The report comes after US forces withdrew from Taliban-controlled Afghanistan on August 31, ending a 20-year presence in the war-torn country.

During an 18-day evacuation campaign, the US-led coalition successfully transported 123,000 American citizens, allies, and vulnerable Afghans.

Thousands of people who were qualified for Western assistance have been abandoned in Afghanistan now that the deadline has gone, despite the military’s best efforts.

The airport no longer has any capacity for evacuations, and stranded civilians have been instructed to seek refuge by crossing into a neighboring nation.

The Taliban have put up checkpoints all around the country, and there have been tales of them executing people having Western ties.

There is currently no safe passage for American students and their families facilitated by the United States.

Jen Psaki, the White House press secretary, has refused to comment on a leaked phone discussion between President Joe Biden and Afghan President Ashraf Ghani, in which Biden encouraged Ghani to “alter the perception” of the Taliban war, “whether it [was]accurate or not.”

“I believe the perception across the world and in parts of Afghanistan is that things are not going well in terms of the war against the Taliban,” Mr Biden reportedly added.
