‘It’s your body, your decision!’ Macron’s plan for forced vaccinations has enraged Britons.
According to a poll, forcing people to get vaccinated in order to utilize public transportation or attend eateries would be superfluous and a violation of their human rights.
Covid vaccinations will be required for health workers, those who use public transportation, and people who wish to visit restaurants, pubs, and clubs in France starting in September, according to French President Emmanuel Macron. We asked readers of this page if Boris should take the same attitude. In a poll of 2,929 readers conducted between 2.34 p.m. on July 13 and 12.39 p.m. on July 14, the majority of respondents said Boris should not impose forced vaccination, while 38% said he should, and 1% said they didn’t know.
Some readers stated that forcing vaccination is a breach of their human rights, while others stated that Boris does not need to make vaccination necessary because the vast majority of UK citizens had done so of their own volition.
“It’s a basic human right to pick what you put in your body – your body, your choice,” one person said.
“No government, employer, or individual anywhere in the world has the authority to deprive you of that fundamental human right.
“It is very criminal to force or coerce medication onto an individual, as well as to experiment on humans.”
“More than 46 million of the 56 million UK adults have already willingly done what needs to be done, and those figures are increasing by hundreds of thousands every day,” another reader stated.
“In comparison to the French, we have a distinct approach toward personal and social responsibility.
“It makes you feel pleased to be a British citizen.”
With the Delta variation sweeping the country, Mr Macron has taken a more authoritarian approach to vaccination, citing the fact that only around half of the French population has received both vaccines and only about a quarter has had their first.
This is in contrast to the significantly higher vaccination rate in the United Kingdom, where just under 70% of adults have had their first dose and over 51% have received their second.
In a research performed by YouGov in January 2021, individuals from 24 nations were asked whether Covid vaccination should be required, and 40% of Britons replied yes, while just 19% of French said yes.
