Hallmark Channel’s premiered a new movie every single Saturday night since 2019 began, starting with Emilie Ullerup and Kevin McGarry’s “Winter Castle” on Jan. 5, but that streak comes to an end tonight.
The network kicked off its Christmas in July event, Christmas Keepsake Week, on Friday, and while they were originally set to premiere a new holiday flick, “A Merry Christmas Match,” at 8 p.m. EDT tonight, in honor of the occasion, the film has since been taken off the schedule and replaced with a showing of “Pride, Prejudice and Mistletoe,” starring Lacey Chabert and Brendan Penny.
Although there isn’t a new movie airing tonight, there is some sort of Hallmark channel premiere still happening.
At 10 p.m. EDT, Chabert will host “2019 Christmas: A First Look Preview Special,” which will give viewers a look at what’s to come during Hallmark Channel’s Countdown to Christmas event later this year, as well as a glimpse at Hallmark Movies & Mysteries’ Miracles of Christmas 2019 lineup. “Home & Family” animal expert Larissa Wohl will also appear during the special.
A rescheduled date for “A Merry Christmas Match” has not been set, and Hallmark only confirmed to International Business Times that the movie would no longer air during Christmas Keepsake Week and not if it would air at a later date or not. Though the production company behind the film, The Ninth House, did share on Twitter on Thursday that it would arrive “later in the year.”
So, when will the next new Hallmark Channel movie premiere then?
Not next Saturday (July 20), either. That night, Erin Krakow and Ryan Paevey will co-host a preview special for Hallmark’s 2019 Summer Nights programming event. The Saturday after that though, July 27, the network will be back to airing new romances. “Rome in Love,” starring Italia Ricci and Peter Porte, premieres that night at 9 p.m. EDT.
“A completely unknown actress is plucked from obscurity in Bend, Oregon and flown to the Eternal City to star in a remake of ‘Roman Holiday,’ and life imitates art when romance blossoms between her and the writer assigned by an Italian magazine to introduce her to the world,” the synopsis reveals of the upcoming movie.
In the meantime, Hallmarkies can enjoy all their favorite Christmas flicks from years past on Hallmark Channel during its Christmas in July event.
