Is Crufts 2021 still on the schedule, or has it been canceled?

CRUFTS is the most popular dog show in the UK, with hundreds of dogs competing for the title of Best in Show. So, when is Crufts 2021, and is it still on?

Crufts attracts thousands of dogs and their human friends every year to Birmingham’s NEC. Crufts, dubbed “the world’s greatest dog show,” is known for its stringent competition standards. Every year, thousands of people watch the action from the stands, and many more tune in to see it live on TV.

Crufts 2021 was supposed to take place from July 15 to July 18 at the NEC Birmingham.

Crufts 2021, on the other hand, was canceled by The Kennel Club in March.

This year’s cancellation of Crufts is the first time the event has been postponed in nearly 70 years.

Crufts 2020 took place in early March of last year, right before the United Kingdom’s lockdown began.

The Kennel Club stated on the Crufts website that the decision to cancel the event was made owing to “ongoing uncertainty” caused by the coronavirus.

The event was canceled “out of respect for all of its volunteers, judges, exhibitors, sponsors, trade stand holders, visitors, and employees,” according to the statement.

According to a survey conducted by The Kennel Club, 63 percent of people were uncomfortable or apprehensive about attending an indoor event in the near future.

“We are very sad that we have had to cancel Crufts for the first time since 1954, in what would have been its 130th anniversary year, and it is a decision we have not taken lightly,” Crufts Chairman Tom Mather said.

“We tried everything we could to make this year’s show a success, including delaying the event until July last November.

“Of course, this was before we were hit by the pandemic’s terrible second wave.

“When this decision was made, we were hopeful that the situation would allow the event to go on.

“However, we recognized that holding the event in the summer under certain constraints might, in some ways, be detrimental to the presentation.

“We were sad that, despite carrying over the qualification from 2020, we would still be limited in our entry numbers and wouldn’t be able to welcome as many dogs back.”Brinkwire Summary News”.
