When the baker opens its sole foreign location later this month, vacationers will be able to purchase a Greggs sausage roll at Tenerife South airport.

Tenerife is “the ideal location to test spreading our wings in an overseas setting,” according to Greggs, which last ran stores overseas in Belgium in 2008.

Greggs stated that the store at the airport’s international departures area will carry a variety of baked goods, rolls, and sweet treats in addition to freshly made sandwiches, however the precise launch date has not yet been announced.

In addition to freshly squeezed orange juice, which is made and bottled in-store every day, a Spanish omelette roll will be offered as part of the breakfast menu, “giving customers a refreshing taste of island life,” according to the baker.

Approximately half of the 13 million tourists who use Tenerife South airport each year travel to and from the United Kingdom.

According to Greggs, it’s the ‘ideal way to round off a journey without breaking the bank’ because of its location.

Additionally, the store will include seating for up to 92 patrons.

“Tenerife South Airport is a hub for millions of UK and international passengers each year, making it the ideal location to test spreading our wings in an overseas setting,” stated Roisin Currie, CEO of Greggs.

When the baker opens its sole international location later this month, vacationers will be able to purchase a Greggs sausage roll at Tenerife South airport. “It’s an exciting milestone for Greggs as we bring a slice of home to the Canaries, and we’re confident our great-value offering will resonate just as well under the Spanish sun as it does on the UK high street.”

In collaboration with Lagardere Travel Retail, which has over 5,000 outlets in airports, train stations, and other sites across more than 50 countries globally, the new store will open.

“We’re thrilled to partner with Greggs to bring such a beloved brand into Tenerife South Airport for the very first time,” stated Javier Cagigal, CEO of Lagardere Travel Retail Spain and Portugal.

“This new opening offers travellers a familiar, cosy option for departures, whether it’s a farewell treat, a leisurely sit-down, or something to make the trip home easier.
