A TEEN was charged with murder after his 15-year-old sister was found dead in a caravan park.
After Amanda Selby was killed at Ty Mawr Holiday Park on Saturday, Matthew Selby, 19, from the Greater Manchester area, was charged with murder.
According to North Wales Live, the accused appeared at Llandudno Magistrates’ Court today, where District Judge Gwyn Jones remanded him in jail until tomorrow at Mold Crown Court.
Prosecutor James Neary requested that the matter be transferred to the crown court, claiming that there was no right to bail.
”I have nothing to add, save to say this is a horrible case,” defense lawyer Simon Sargent said at a hearing that lasted less than two minutes.
In the glass-fronted dock, Selby, dressed in a grey sweatshirt, spoke only to identify his name, residence, and date of birth, as well as to indicate that he understood the allegation.
On Saturday afternoon, police were summoned to Ty Mawr Holiday Park in Towyn, in Abergele, Wales, for a “domestic disturbance.”
The incident reportedly occurred inside a caravan on the property, leaving holiday park managers stunned.
“Following an incident at Ty Mawr Holiday Park, Towyn on Saturday afternoon, 19-year-old Matthew Selby from the Greater Manchester region has been charged with murder this afternoon,” North Wales Police announced yesterday.
“We are horrified and saddened by this awful incident,” a park official said over the weekend.
“Ty Mawr is a 100-acre family park that attracts tens of thousands of visitors each year. This was a one-of-a-kind, never-before-seen episode that occurred within a caravan.”
