‘I suddenly feel quite mature.’ As he follows royal tradition, Prince George will undergo significant changes.

PRINCE As an aristocratic tradition, George will switch from shorts to trousers once he reaches the age of eight.

George has been seen wearing shorts several times over the years, even when the weather is cold. However, as is customary for upper-class children, the future king is anticipated to switch to trousers at the age of eight.

“Boys wear short trousers till they are eight,” Ingrid Seward, editor-in-chief of Majesty magazine, previously told People.

“It has an English flavor to it.

“When a tiny boy is only a little boy, it is considered quite suburban for him to be dressed in long trousers.

“Until you’re eight, you’re in shorts, and then ‘woo, you’re in long trousers.’

“They seem to have grown up all of a sudden.”

Ms. Seward went on to say that George is following in his father, the Duke of Cambridge’s, footsteps.

“Prince William didn’t wear long trousers until he was eight or nine years old when he went to school at Ludgrove,” she claimed.

William Hanson, an etiquette expert, already explained why George wears shorts.

“It’s a very English thing to put a small boy in shorts,” he told Harpers Bazaar.

“In England, trousers are for older boys and men, whereas shorts on little boys are one of those quiet class markers.

“A pair of trousers on a little boy is regarded quite middle class – quite suburban, despite the fact that things are (slowly) changing.

“And no self-respecting aristocrat or royal wants to be associated with the suburbs.

“Even the Duchess of Cambridge,” says the narrator.

Even on Christmas Day, William and Kate’s eldest son has been spotted out and about in shorts.

However, after turning eight in July, he has been spotted more in trousers.

Since George’s eighth birthday, there’s been a lot of conjecture about whether he’ll go to boarding school like William did.
